OUR MISSION is to create thoughtful, beautiful custom window coverings that meet our client's aesthetic, functional and economic goals while honoring and celebrating the space that contains them. 

OUR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE applies to all types of projects. Erik Swenson, the owner and lead designer, has over 20 years of residential and commercial window treatment design experience. From new construction to renovations no job is too small or too large. Erik welcomes collaborations with Architects, Engineers and fellow Interior Designers. 

OUR APPROACH is flexible and responsive. We work with some clients who have a strong vision and we help them achieve it. Others are less sure and it is our pleasure guiding them through the design process and helping them to formulate their own aesthetic as we go. From pulling fabrics and trimmings for inspiration to detailed sketches for customized designs Erik is passionate about his work.

OUR NETWORK of collaborating professionals, formed through over 20 years of practice, includes architects, artisans and craftsman who share our vision. 

SHADE INC IS BASED IN THE DESIGN DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO but we are currently working on projects in the East Bay, Healdsburg, Sonoma and other surrounding cities. We enjoy the diversity and learning opportunities offered by working in communities other than our own and have worked on projects as far away as New York, Connecticut and Hawaii.
